Biography/Personal Interests

Dr. Levinson sub-specialty expertise is PEDIATRIC OTOLARYNGOLOGY

Dr. Levinson joined the clinic in 1978 after the completion of his residency at the Harvard Medical School Otolaryngology program. His special interests in microsurgery of the ear and pediatric ENT surgery were nurtured at this institution with the opportunity to study under some of the most famous pioneering surgeons in these fields.

Dr. Levinson’s focus in these areas and close affiliation with Minneapolis Children’s Hospital and Clinics allowed him to gain great experience and expertise in the special problems of children. He became the first physician in the State of Minnesota to be accepted into the American Society of Pediatric Otolaryngology.

Dr. Levinson’s primary academic focus has been on ear problems, especially the treatment of chronic perforations and retraction pockets of the ear drum that can result in further disease and damage.

Dr. Levinson is the author of multiple articles in the medical literature and a book chapter in one of the definitive textbooks of ear surgery on the surgical technique of managing retraction pockets.
