Melanie Hicks, M.D.

Dr. Hicks is a board-certified otolaryngologist with advanced training in head and neck cancer surgery. After graduating medical school from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities, she ventured south to the University of Alabama at Birmingham for her otolaryngology – head and neck surgery residency training. Following residency, she completed a fellowship in head and neck cancer, cranial base and microvascular reconstructive surgery at Vanderbilt University. She stayed on faculty at Vanderbilt as an Assistant Professor until moving back to Minneapolis to join ENTSC. 

During her time at Vanderbilt, she was active in resident and fellow education and research mentorship. She enjoys working in a multidisciplinary environment to provide excellent care for cancer patients. In addition to head and neck cancer, Dr. Hicks focuses on benign tumors of the head and neck as well as salivary disorders and thyroid disease. 

Outside of work, you can find her and her husband chasing after their three young children and exploring book stores, coffee shops, and new restaurants.
